Villa Park witnessed one of the most dominant displays of football from an Aston Villa outfit that has started the season brilliantly. The scoreline was one everyone could have never had predicted. A shock 4-0 victory for the Hammers!

This was a three in the morning kick-off for me as I am residing in South Korea. My alarm was set and I was fully expecting Wolves to play us off the park from the first whistle. I wake up bleary eyed and find a good stream on my laptop to watch the clash. What I witnessed was a real breath of fresh air from West Ham. We looked superb, pinging the ball around well and chasing down every loose ball all over the pitch. In our previous league game against Arsenal, we had played brilliantly but didn't get our just rewards for our efforts in a 2-1 loss at the Emirates. At the forefront of this was former Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen who was a menace all evening for the Wolves backline. He opened the scoring after just 17 minutes with a brilliant solo goal. The stand out team in Premier League after two rounds of fixtures

We are only two games into the 2020-2021 season and so far the attacking players have clearly been in the ascendancy. Last weekend we saw a record number of goals scored in a game week. A staggering 44 goals were scored over the ten games. Gabriel Jesus' last-minute strike in Manchester City's 3-1 win against Wolves surpassed the previous record of 43 goals. It is the highest number of goals scored in a 20-team top-flight weekend. The result also means there has not been a single drawn match in the opening two rounds of Premier League fixtures. Defenses are not being able to contain the attacking threat in the league to date which makes for some exciting viewing for a spectator. My stand out team thus far has to be Everton FC. The blue side of Mersey side, have won their first two Premier League fixtures and a resounding win in the League Cup midweek, granted over lower opposition in Division One outfit Fleetwood Town FC. Reaction: West Ham 0-2 Newcastle United

As far as inept opening day performances go, this one by West Ham has to be the worst I have ever witnessed as a supporter. Newcastle traveled south with a good squad, bolstered by recent signings Callum Wilson, Jamal Lewis, and Jeff Hendricks and they bossed proceedings from the first whistle. It was goals from debutants Wilson and Hendricks that did the damage for the Toon, both scored after the interval. West Ham did have their chances, striking the woodwork twice in the first half through an Angelo Ogbonna header and a Pablo Fornals' effort deflected onto the crossbar. Callum Wilson simply put, loves playing against West Ham. It was his eighth goal in nine appearances against the hammers. It was a real poachers effort to open his account for his new club. The English Premier League is back!!

The Premier League in England returned to action following a 100-day absence due to COVID-19. The first fixture to be played was Aston Villa against Sheffield United at 6pm UK time. All the games globally are still playing behind closed doors . The game ended 0-0 but it was filled with controversy . In the 42nd minute, the visitors should have been ahead going into half-time as Oliver Norwood's deep free-kick was fumbled over the line by Villa goalkeeper Orjan Nyland. In this modern era referees have a watch that vibrates on their wrists to indicate that the ball had fully gone over the line. On this occasion the referee Michael Oliver's watch did not vibrate. My love for West Ham United FC

For me to support West Ham United was a strange decision considering my Dad was a huge Chelsea fan and my grandfather was a Charlton Athletic supporter. My first ever game was going to the Valley (home of Charlton) to watch them play. I can't remember the opposition . From my vague memory, the main reason I started liking the Hammers was due to the colours of their kit . Growing up I loved the colours blue and maroon. I was visiting my family friends house when West Ham was live on the television. They won that day and that's where my love for the Irons came from. West Ham United is situated in East London and they currently play in the Premier League. They were founded in 1895 and were originally called "Thames Ironworks", but five years later they changed to West Ham United. They played at Upton Park since 1904 but more recently in 2016 moved to play at the Olympic Stadium in nearby Stratford. The move has caused cri...

Football slowly returning to normality during COVID-19. How the K League got it all started.

After months of uncertainty, football all over the world is slowly returning to some sense of normality. The K League in South Korea was one of the first major leagues to start on May 8th. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Suwon Samsung Bluewings kicked things off and the game was screened all over the world in over twenty countries worldwide. It was the first time in the league's history a professional game was shown on the British Broadcasting Co-operation (BBC) with English commentary. It was viewed by over 3.5 million people on a live twitter feed. With millions more watching through other media outlets . The game itself didn't live up to the hype with the home side Jeonbuk winning 1-0 with 41-year-old Lee Dong-gook with the only goal with just five minutes remaining.
